Becoming a New Provider
The 4C of the U.P., in an effort to continue offering parents a variety of child care options, recruits new providers and assists in the licensing process. Anyone in the State of Michigan that cares for unrelated children in their home for more than 4 weeks in a year needs to have a license.
Our local Child Care Specialists, as well as the 4C of the U.P. Regional Office, is available for support to all potential providers. Our organization offers "Needs Assessments" for all 15 counties in the U.P. We also assist with obtaining the appropriate paperwork for the State of Michigan, as well as assisting with the process of filling out the paperwork.
If you are considering becoming a licensed/registered provider, please contact the 4C of the U.P.
You will need to go online to obtain a licensing application packet; DHS Bureau of Children & Adult Licensing no longer mails out application packets,
